Preliminary music video: Learner Response

1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full plus a summary of the comments you received from other students in the class.
Teacher

WWW: Excellent title, performance + narrative element, lighting, excellent performances, good locations, lip synching, leaned camera, good post production, diegetic sound, facial expressions, informal element.

EBI: Colour grading/ visual effects, faster editing near the end, artist logo/ branding, avoid close ups in succession.

Students

WWW: Great narrative, goodwin, visually nice, jumpcuts, multiple shots, diegetic sound, good tempo, good concept, cinematography.

EBI: No close ups in succession.

2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your work.
WWW
  • Good concept
  • Good visual element
  • Good editing
EBI
  • Typography
  • A logo/ branding
  • learn how to overlay

3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?
I did exactly what I intended for my music video to look like, following along my statement of intent and focusing on the mise-en-scene to create the visual effect and connotations I intended.

4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?
I have learnt how to edit and create effects that I want as well as cultivate a conventional video with meaning.

5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything about your actual coursework video plan? This could include your concept, cast/actors or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork or editing.
I've decided to change one song but my plan is still the same as before.
